DOING A WEDDING DISPLAY NEED TO THICKEN WATER SO GLITTER WILL NOT SINK HAVE SEEN FLORISTS RESIN BUT THIS SEEMS TO SOLID AND TOO EXPENSIVE

NEED TO MAKEIT LIKE GEL CANDLES CONSISTANCY OR SLIGHTLY LIGHTER NEED TO FLOAT CANDLE ON TOP IF POSS SO NEEDS TO BE FIRE PROOF I REMEMBER AS A KID MAKING SNOW SCENES I THINK IT WAS GLYSORIN PLEASE HELP

Yes, use glycerin (glycerol, same diff).



It does mix with water.



Maybe you could make a jelly using gelatin? Won't be liquid but is fire proof and the glitter stays put. Also no mess if spilled ('cos you can't spill it).

Before it sets up, insert a clear votive candle cup into the center up to the top of the cup. Drop a tea light into the candle cup and light it. The candle gel should hold the glitter in the suspended position.

Reply:Use a water based glue, like Aquadhere. It will dry clear.

Or use gelatin, the stuff used to make jelly. If you don't add flavour or colour, it will dry clear. Use a little more water than you would to make jelly %26amp; it will be semi-liquid.
Reply:Your snow scene was probably in glycerin, for what you want to do try using plain gelatin, available at any grocery store. You could even add food coloring for a little extra effect.
